Inspired by Beaujolais Nouveau Day

With Beaujolais Nouveau Day on 18th November, we have spent some time recently trying, tasting and experiencing wines of new and old.

Whilst thinking about all the wonderful new wines that are due to grace our shelves this year, we also thought it was a good opportunity to share with you our current favourites in the hope that you might join us for a glass.

First up is the Vega Sicilia Valbuena 5 º 2016.

A Manor favourite because of its full body and bold, dry taste, this Ribera Del Duero wine is pleasure to drink with its vanilla, tobacco and plum notes.

It pairs beautifully with beef, steak, lamb or game and the fillet steak on our Winter Menu would make a perfect partner for this full-bodied red.

It is in the top 1% of wines in the world based on ratings from wine experts and there is no better way to embody #TheManorWay than to be with loved ones, drinking a large glass in Joe’s bar, on a dark winter’s evening.

Then we have a gorgeous Fleurie from Château Grand Pré.

A firm favourite on our wine list, this Beaujolais red pairs beautifully with pasta, veal, pork and chicken. Opening notes of strawberry and cherry followed by a stunning aniseed and liquorice aftertaste.

The region of Beaujolais may be best known for Beaujolais Nouveau Day, but we think this wine should be right up there on the list of notable things to come out of the region.

Why not come and join us at The Manor at Bickley for a large glass of wine, an amazing meal and a wonderful evening #TheManorWay.
